General Principles (25%) painting, repainting, wallcovering, waterproofing, and specialty coating work surface preparation, priming, and application of finishes and wallcoverings environmental conditions that affect painting and wallcovering work 2. Materials (25%) selection, mixing, and application of various coatings considerations for the application of different coatings on different surfaces disposal procedures 3. Tools and Equipment (15%) terminology, functions, and operations care, cleaning, set-up and storage methods 4. Safety Procedures (15%) Cal/OSHA requirements General Industry Safety Orders accident prevention procedures and first aid for working near high voltage transmission equipment, on high jobs, and around toxic environments ventilation procedures and proper use of respirators recognition and correction of unsafe working conditions or equipment 5. Plans and Specifications (10%) interpretation of blueprints, architectural drawings, schematics, and written specifications interpretation of contract provisions and compliance with the Uniform Building Code regulations regarding flame spread classifications for materials 6.
